Why Go To The Middle Man?

In the business world where buyers are constantly trying to get more with less, why is it that most companies rely on resellers for a vital part of their sales turnover? Most of the companies I buy from openly admit that resellers are often closer to the smaller account than their own sales force and the reseller sells a wide range of products.

Maybe I should not have been surprised by an advert in British Baker last month which whilst extolling the virtue of their pricing also added ‘Why Go To  The Middle Man'. On the basis that this company has something different to offer, I searched for their web site (there isn't one).

Most companies I have spoken to, in the food industry use a middle man/reseller. Without them, they would have to spend additional time and possibly money searching for items for their businesses.

March was an excellent month overall. It started with being advised that a customer had called in the administrators. They have since been bought and are now trading again. It continued with a healthy sales figure comprising of Stainless steel dollys, Stacking containers, Pallet containers, Bakery racks, Baking trays, Wheeled waste containers, Attached lid containers, Nest/stacking containers, Spares, Mobile trucks and Bespoke stainless steel hoops. Customers, include Sandwich manufacturers, Meat wholesale, Bakeries, Food manufacturers and a registered charity. There was also an order for refurbishment of pallet containers. It was a record month for over 3 years for quotations.

Many of my customers are large national food manufacturers and processors. They continue to buy many of their products from Girling Supplies.

After all Girling Supplies is the ‘Middle Man'.
