First half 201107 jul, 2011

I have been told by many business people that 2011 will be a difficult year, and so far they are right. All is not doom and gloom. Sales have been many and varied. Virgin train services to London have been fully tested. Chester to London 2hours 4 minutes and twice it has arrived early!

The biggest achievement so far this year has been sales to 2 companies who supply supermarkets with ready meals. On both occasions the initial order was the result of factory visits. Achieving my half year target has given me a lot of pride.

More of the sales to Girling Supplies have been for bespoke items which in some cases have required drawings and meetings with customers. One customer called and asked for a plastics survey, which necessitated a 2 hour factory visit. After this visit, both the cusomer and myself realised just how much they had on site which was not suitable for their own applications. The outcome, is that telephone or internet sales can same time, providing the end user gets  the right product fior the application.

If there are other businesses reading this who would like me to visit and give a written report on the use of plastic containers in production or distribution, please give me a call or send an e mail.

I have incresed the number of networking events, which I attend met some great contacts. New leads and contacts will eventually turn to new business. I am now looking forward to the next quarter and the challenges which lie ahead.
